My name is Nancy Montgomery, and I live in Round Rock, Texas - a small
town 15 miles north of Austin.
Well, we-re not as small anymore. We have grown rapidly in the last few
years because we are the home
of Dell Computer.
I am not a native Texan (very few people here are!). I grew up in
Syracuse, New York, so the weather
change was drastic and took a lot of adapting.. I remind myself every summer
that you don't have to shovel
humidity! My wonderful husband is from Memphis, Tennessee, so he doesn't
find these conditions so unusual!
I have three children and three grandchildren. I have worked most of their
lives. Like every working mother,
I missed a lot by not being there as they grew, and they grow up way too
fast. Last year I was laid off (no
I don't work for Dell). I began using computers at work about 4 years ago,
and when I couldn't find another job,
I decided to use, and expand my computer skills to start a home-based
business. I absolutely love what I am
doing, and it allows me to have more time for my family, and the opportunity
to do a lot of things I would not be
able to do if I was still working outside the home. I love all kinds of
needle work, sewing, and gardening and now
I have the time to accomplish so much more, and even have time to do
charitable work now.
I have always been involved with helping people, first as an RN, and later
as a manager assigned to assist people
with all types of problems, and to teach staff how to handle these problems,
and how to meet their goals. I was
ecstatic when I found my business because it incorporates all these past
experiences and allows me to continue
helping people - this time to succeed.
